Breathing in...
...Breathing out...
...Settling here...

Happy Autumn Dear Ones!
This month's blog is a noticing and an accepting of the flow of life rather than an exploration of the practices and theory of Emotion Code, as I had planned.
I am starting to realize that there are seasons in life that invite me to rest. I am taught, by rebuilding from 3 years of illness, by witnessing nature, and by gaining life perspective with each passing year, to pay more attention to the invitations to rest that life and my body present.
September was a month full of such invitations:
A shift in the daily routine of the family as school began for my two boys; I find transitions to be more energy consuming than living within a routine. My body asks for more sleep, free weekends, and more nourishment (for me this is healthy food, yoga, meditation...)
A slow down following an intense summer of family health emergencies; after providing days and days and days of caregiving, some mornings greet me with the sensation of a deep, whole-body weariness.
A period of isolation as Covid finally arrived at our house; it took two weeks of nourishing myself and my family to have the clean bill of health, the energy, and the focus to re-enter the routines of school and work.
Noticing my energy level and September's invitations to rest, I respond by acknowledging the reality of my month and my now. I let go of my intention for an in-depth blog post about the practice and theory of Emotion Code. I breathe into this awareness as I look forward to October and the joy of writing about Emotion Code.
Preparing to leave this space, I offer up an invitation:
To say "yes" to rest, when possible, as often as you sense your body and your life asking for it. This saying "yes" to rest is also an act of trust that the inclinations to produce and to be active will come in their time, after the need to rest is met.
Lastly, if you can't wait until October to delve into Emotion Code, I invite you to watch this interview with Dr. Bradley Nelson, the retired Chiropractor who developed and teaches the practice, produced by Anthony Chene. If any questions come up for you, I'd love to hear them! Add them in the comments section or send them to me on my contact page.

... if you release ambition
you can use all of life, good and bad,
as fuel for the fires of joy.
~William Martin, The Parent's Tao Te Ching
Until next time, wishing you a restful and/or energizing Autumn,
whatever best honors your reality.
